The Obamas set to headline DNC on day 2

With just three months to go before the 2024 election, thousands of people are gathering in Chicago this week for the Democratic National Convention with the event heading into its second day Tuesday.

President Joe Biden has addressed delegates and the week's full focus now turns to Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor, Tim Walz.

Former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama are returning to the city they once called home to take the stage in support of Harris' nomination.

The Obamas are expected to headline the convention's second night, a day after the unofficial farewell for Biden, who served eight years as Obama's vice president.

Second gentleman Doug Emhoff is also scheduled to give his speech tonight.

The party has already officially nominated Vice-President Kamala Harris in a virtual roll call after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
