Elizabeth has led to the death of a man and the injuring of another.
A third man is on the run.
Jeffrey Nelson, 38, a truck driver otherwise called "Rolla", and Denvo Smith, 25, both of Tryall in the parish were attacked and stabbed at a wake in Ballards.
The police report that Mr. Nelson and Mr. Smith arrived at the wake close to midnight Saturday, and while in the process of parking his truck, a dispute developed between them and men from Ballards over parking arrangements.
The argument escalated into a fight and both Mr. Nelson and Mr. Smith were stabbed.
Their attackers then fled.
Mr. Nelson was pronounced dead at the Black River Hospital while Mr. Smith was treated and released.
The Junction Police who are probing the incident are seeking a man known only as "Waynie" for questioning in connection with Mr. Nelson's murder.
