The Water and Sewerage Authority in Trinidad & Tobago says it has put in place emergency measures to ensure residents in the worst-affected areas have a consistent supply of water.
The move comes as the country deals with an unprecedented, harsh, five-month dry season.
In a statement, the Ministry of Public Utilities said the dry period has resulted in the country's water supply shrinking by 35 million gallons daily.
The country has also been experiencing below-average rainfall activity.
