There was a double murder in Williamsfield, Siloah in St. Elizabeth on Wednesday night.

The deceased have been identified as 37-year-old Daine Morgan, a bar owner of the same community and 20-year-old bartender Kishene Arscott, of Ballards River in Clarendon.

It's reported that about 10:30 p.m., armed men opened fire at Mr. Morgan and the woman at his bar.

They were pronounced dead at hospital.

The men fired several shots as they fled the scene in a Toyota Axio motor car.

Deputy Superintendent Coleridge Minto, head of the St. Elizabeth Police, said there is no motive for the shooting.

"The information we have so far, the female, the bartender that worked at this location, it was her second day working here. The gentleman who was killed is a resident of this community. Well over 33 spent shells were found at this location," he said, lamenting the killings in the usually peaceful community.

DSP Minto said the police are supporting the residents and working to ensure a swift investigation.
