University student Kengu Black, has been charged for the deadly collision along the P. J. Patterson Highway in St. Catherine in March that claimed the lives of four people, including an eight-year-old boy.
Ms. Black is the daughter of prominent Manchester businessman and political activist Skeng Don, whose real name is Kenneth Black.
The accused, who is of a Mandeville, Manchester address, appeared before the St. Catherine Parish Court on Monday on four counts of causing death by dangerous driving.
She was granted $800,000 bail with surety.
The bail application was made by her attorney, Christopher Townsend.
In granting bail, Acting Senior Parish Court Judge Janelle Nelson-Gayle ordered Ms. Black to surrender her travel documents and submit her fingerprints to the authorities.
The case is to go back to court on February 6 next year.
Allegations are that minutes after midnight on March 30, Ms. Black was driving a 2022 Mercedes SUV along the highway when, upon reaching close to the exit, the vehicle collided with a Toyota Probox motor car that had earlier crashed and overturned.
While the passengers were exiting the Probox, they were hit by the Mercedes SUV.
Those killed were 22-year-old Tyesha Manhertz, Wendy Lammie, 29, Andre McLeish, 27, and eight-year-old Trey Stewart.
