Wage issues to dominate Police Federation meeting

Issues relating to salaries and benefits, pension reform and insurance coverage will be high on the agenda of an all island delegate and branch board meeting of the Jamaica Police Federation which has been called for this Wednesday morning.

Sergeant Raymond Wilson, Chairman of the Federation Chairman, said the meeting, which will take place at the Jamaica Conference Centre, is a crucial one.

It comes ahead of the start of wage negotiations for the 2012 to 2014 contract period.

"We have submitted our package some months ago, that is our 2012-2014 salaries and benefits package some months ago...we have not started  to discuss this as yet. We have written to the Minsiter some weeks ago asking to start the process..."

Another issue to be discussed at the meeting is the lengthy working hours for rank and file members of  the Force.
