A man who was wanted for murder in the Kingston East Police Division was fatally shot on Friday morning during a targeted police operation in Gutterhead, St. Thomas.
He has been identified as Christopher Duffus of Gutterhead.
According to the police, a team arrived at the suspect's house and was greeted by gunshots.
The police returned fire and Duffus was fatally shot.
But residents have refuted the police version of the events, saying he was home when officers forced their way into the house and shot him in front of his family.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the incident.
Meanwhile, INDECOM is probing another police-related shooting in Marley Acres, Old Harbour in St. Catherine.
Details on that incident are not yet known.
