Westmoreland psychiatric care nurses on sick out

Psychiatric care nurses in Westmoreland are  on sick out.

The nurses are upset that their standby/call out allowance was slashed in half in July.

However, services are not being affected by the protest action.

RJR News was informed that at least two of the five nurses assigned to the Darliston Health Centre did not report to work on Thursday.

On Wednesday, only one psychiatric nurse and none of the three psychiatric aides reported for work.

The Nurses Association of Jamaica has been meeting with the Western Regional Health Authority to discuss the issue.
