11-year-old girl among minors in custody as police investigate death of 13-year-old in St. Vincent

An 11-year-old girl in St Vincent is among a group of minors that police have taken into custody as investigations continue into the death of a 13-year-old whose body was found half naked on the outskirts of the capital on Monday.

The police are yet to issue an official statement on the killing, but they have launched a probe into the death of Matthew Da Souza, who appeared to have injuries to the head.

The teen had a history of begging in the streets.

Sources say at least two boys and the girl, all known to have run away from home, have said that they were present when Mr Da Souza suffered the fatal ordeal.
