The Bermuda Government has confirmed the deaths of two Bermudians who were on board an air ambulance that crashed shortly after takeoff for the United States on Saturday.
They have been identified as 66 year-old Marilyn Lavonne Bean and her 41 year-old son, Sergio Wayne Lottimore.
The Bermuda Police Service says the two were among six people aboard the Gulfstream G100 jet, which went missing off Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, shortly after one Saturday morning.
Police say the investigation is being led by the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, in conjunction with Canada's Transportation Safety Board.
A Bermuda Police Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist the relatives of the victims.
Bermuda Premier David Burt says, while the authorities had hoped for the best, their worst fears have now been realised.
