Cayman police chief vows to root out crooked cops

Commissioner of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Services Kurt Walton is vowing to weed out corrupt cops.

Commissioner Walton has declared that there will be no refuge for those who disgrace their badge.

Commissioner Walton has acknowledged that, in recent times, several of his officers have come under the spotlight for questionable acts.

He added that there are some who have not yet been charged, but have been suspended because the offences alleged were so serious they warranted immediate suspension.

His comments came on the heels of the arrest, on suspicion of aggravated burglary and theft, of a 23 year-old Bodden Town woman who serves as a probationary police officer.
