Constitution Reform Commission highlights human rights in new report to Barbados President

The Constitution Reform Commission in Barbados has presented its report to President Dame Sandra Mason with the CRC chairman indicating that the document contains several recommendations for a Constitution.

CRC Chairman, retired Justice Christopher Blackman, says the draft bill, which accompanies the report, expands the provisions of the current Constitution by more than 50 per cent.

Emphasis was placed on Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, which led to the recommendation for the establishment of a Human Rights Commission for the CARICOM country.
