Jamaica's Romaine Beckford and Rivaldo Marshall have secured victories on the third and final day of the NCAA Division 1 Indoor Championships in Boston, USA.
Beckford, the former Buff Bay High standout, now a senior at the University of Arkansas, leapt a personal best and facility record 2.27 metres to win the men's high jump.
Marshall, the former Calabar High star competing for the University of Iowa, clocked 1 minute, 46.96 to win the men's 800 metres. Another Jamaican Tarees Rhoden representing Clemson University, ended 5th in 1 minute, 47.79.
Rojae Stona representing the Univeristy of Arkansas, threw a personal best 20.48 metres to win the shot put.
Meanwhile, Briana Lyston clocked a personal best 7.03 seconds to win the women’s 60 metres, moving her up to number 2 all time and 4th on the Jamaican all-time list.
Lamara Distin also competing for the University of Arkansas, leapt 1.97 metres for second in the women's high jump.
Jevaughn Powell of the University of Florida, clocked 45.59 seconds for 4th in the men's 400 metres, while Travis Williams running for the University of South Carolina sped to 6.64 seconds for 5th in the men's 60 metres.
