Calabar secure ISSA U-16 basketball title

Calabar have won the best of three ISSA Southern Conference Under-16 basketball titles but their Under-19 team will have to wait for a deciding game three in their division. Calabar secured the Under-16 crown after a 50-41 win over Jamaica College at GC Foster College on Monday to win the best of three finals 2-0.

Calabar who held quarterly leads of 17-9; 29-18 and 39-28, were led by Jeremy Bromfield who scored 20 points while Jordan Brandon had 11 points and 16 rebounds for Jamaica College.

In the Under-19 section, Camperdown turned the tables on Calabar 69-50 to force a deciding game 3. Camperdown were led by Dasean Boyd with 22 points, 17 rebounds and 9 assists after quarterly leads of 16-14; 25-21 and 45-39. Shemar Shand was Calabar's top player with 20 points.

The third and deciding game will be contested on Wednesday also at GC Foster starting at 5:00 pm.
