Clarke upstages Watson at Camperdown Classic

World champion Antonio Watson was beaten in his first 400 metre race of the season on Saturday at the Camperdown Classic at the National Stadium.

Watson competing for Racers Track Club, clocked 46.10 seconds for second behind world U20 400m hurdles record holder Roshawn Clarke of Swept Track Club who posted a seasons best 46.05 to win the heat and the overall event.

Terry Thomas of Titans Track Club was third in 46.97 seconds. Clarke was pleased with his season opener.

Meanwhile, 2-time World Championship 100 metre finalist Oblique Seville also clocked a personal best 47.44 seconds to win his heat of the men's 400 metres.
