Netball Jamaica looking to introduce contracts for Sunshine Girls in the future

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Daniel McLeod

President of Netball Jamaica, Karen Baugh is hoping to introduce contracts for senior Sunshine Girls as part of the association's structure going forward.

Teams like South Africa and Australia offer contracts to a core group of elite national players. These contracts aim to provide players with financial stability, allowing them to focus solely on their netball careers, and often cover national team training programmes and events. Netball Jamaica president Karen Baugh is hoping the association can follow suit.

The Sunshine Girls will tour Australia in February next year for a three-match international test series against the Australian Diamonds. This will be the first stand-alone series between the two nations since 2011.
