Fraser-Pryce highlights Velocity Fest meet number six

World champion Shelly-Ann Frazer-Pryce produced a world- leading time to take top honors in the women's 100 meters at the sixth staging of the Velocity Fest at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Frazer-Pryce stopped the clock at 10.86 seconds in winnings section 1 of two ahead of Megan Tapper 11.82, and Melaine Walker who was running her first race since 2017, who finished third in 12.85 seconds.

Reigning Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah ended second overall in the event, having won section 2  in 10.92 seconds.

in the men's equivalent, Yohan Blake stopped the clock at 10.15 seconds to top the field with Ramone Barnswell second best on the day with 10.46 seconds.

Also on the day, World Championship silver medallist Shanieka Ricketts recorded the second best jump of 2020 in posting 14.43 metres in taking the women's triple jump event ahead of Sandisha Antoine 13.31 metres. Shericka Jackson also won the women's 400 metres in 52.29 seconds.
