Jamaica snags three medals at CAC Championships

Herbert McGregor won Jamaica's 3rd medal on the final day of competition at the 21st senior CAC Track and Field Championships in Cali, Colombia on Sunday.

McGregor leapt 7.90 metres to win the long jump silver behind Cuba's Wilfredo Martinez who leapt a personal best and championship record of 8.31 metres

Julian Reid was 4th at 7.76 metres.

Jamaica's Xavier Brown finished 6th in 20.88 seconds in the men's 200 metres behind Trinidadian gold medalist Emanuel Calendar 20.69.

Aleen Bailey was also 6th in the women's equivalent in 23.34 seconds behind 32-year-old Bahamian gold medalist Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie's season best of 22.78 seconds.

Jamaica finished with a gold, silver and bronze.

Cuba topped the championship with 17-gold.

Trinidad and Tobago finished second--best ever-with eight victories and a total of 13 medals.
