Jockey Aaron Chatrie will be out of the saddle for the next few months after being slapped with a 25 race day ban by the Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) stewards on Tuesday.
Chatrie was punished for his failure to take all permissible measures throughout the 7th event aboard Power of Faith on September 28 to ensure full opportunity to win the race. The suspension takes effect on November 9 and Chatrie has 48 hours to lodge an appeal.
Chatrie was also fined $10,000 for excessive use of the whip astride Kaylin's Melody in the third event also on September 28.
