Sachin Tendulkar receives India's top honour

Sachin Tendulkar created history on Tuesday after becoming the youngest person to be conferred with the India's highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna.

The 40 year old, who retired from cricket in November, becomes the first sports-person to receive the award.

Tendulkar's last game was against West Indies in his home town of Mumbai from November 14-16.

He ended as the highest runs scorer in test and one dayers with15, 921 runs in 200 tests and 18, 426 runs in 463 ODI’s.
