West Indies head coach Daren Sammy has paid tribute to former test captain Kraigg Brathwaite who is set to be the 10th West Indian to play 100 test matches.
At age 32, Brathwaite's test career has already spanned 14 years, having made his debut in May 2011 against Pakistan. The Barbadian is also closing in on 6,000 test runs.
He currently has 5,943 runs at an average of 32.83. He's just 57 runs away from also being the 10th West Indian batter to score over 6,000 runs in test cricket.
Sammy says Thursday's 2nd test against Australia at the Grenada National Stadium will not only be a special occasion for Brathwaite, but also for the team.
Brathwaite who stepped down as captain in March, has scored 12 test centuries which ranks him joint 15th on the list for most centuries scored by a West Indian and third most by an opener. The West Indies trail 1-0 in the three match series.
