Seven Sunshine Girls taste victory in Round 10 of Suncorp League

Seven of the eight Sunshine Girls plying their trade in the Suncorp Super Netball League in Australia, were on the winning teams in the 10th round of matches on the weekend.

Romelda Aiken-George scored 38 goals from 47 attempts, while Shamera Sterling-Humphrey and Latanya Wilson had 5 and 4 interceptions respectively in leading defending champions Adelaide Thunderbirds to a 57-42 win over Giants Netball.

Elsewhere, Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard recorded a 98 percent shooting accuracy, pouring in 74 goals from 75 attempts for West Coast Fever who defeated the New South Wales Swifts 78-71.

Another Sunshine Girl, Shimona Jok, formerly Nelson, registered 47 goals from 49 attempts for the Melbourne Mavericks in their 73-61 victory over the Queensland Firebirds.

The Melbourne Vixens are leading the table with 36 points, four ahead of the Fever, with the Thunderbirds on 28 and Sunshine Coast Lightning on 16 completing the top four with four rounds of regular season games to go.
