Thompson and Tina Clayton record season-opening victories

World Championship 100 metre silver medallists Kishane Thompson and Tina Clayton opened their 2026 season with victory over 60 metres at the JAAA Puma Fuller Anderson Development Meet GC Foster College on Saturday.

Thompson of the MVP Track Club clocked 6.52 seconds to eke out a narrow win over Odaine McPherson of Sprint Tech 6.53 and Bryan Levell of Uptimum Track Club 6.54 seconds.

Former Wolmer’s Boys standout Gary Card competing for UTech was 4th with 6.60. 

Clayton sped to 7.02 seconds to win the women's equivalent. She finished ahead of MVP teammates Jonielle Smith 7.06 and Natasha Morrison 7.21 seconds.
