U20 Reggae Boyz qualify for CONCACAF Championship

Jamaica’s Under-20 Reggae Boyz booked their place to the 2026 CONCACAF Championship after wrapping up a flawless qualifying campaign with a 1-0 win over Puerto Rico to top Group "B" on Tuesday night.

The young Jamaicans finished the qualifiers with a perfect five wins from five matches, collecting the maximum 15 points and underlining their dominance with an eye-catching goal difference of +28.

Needing only a positive result to secure top spot, Jamaica showed maturity and discipline against a Puerto Rico team that entered the contest with four wins from their previous four outings.

However, the young Reggae Boyz grinded out the narrow victory to seal first place and punch their ticket to the 2026 Concacaf U20 Championship.

Jamaica were in ruthless form in front of goal, netting 28 times while conceding none at this stage of the competition.

Their defensive solidity was just as impressive as their attacking flair, as they recorded five clean sheets from as many games, sending a statement of intent ahead of the next stage.

The 2026 Concacaf U20 Championship is set to run from July 25 to August 9, at a host venue to be confirmed. The stakes will be even higher there, as Jamaica will need a top-four finish to secure qualification to the 2027 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
