The cast for the upcoming Aretha Franklin biopic, Respect has been revealed.
Jennifer Hudson will play the late Detroit singing legend.
Forest Whitaker will play the role or her father, Marlon Wayans will appear as her first husband Ted White and Mary J. Blige as Dinah Washington.
Skye Dakota Turner, who portrayed a young Anna Mae Bullock in Tina: The Tina Turner Musical on Broadway, will play Franklin as a youth in the film.
Filming for Respect has not yet started.
Franklin was hands-on in helping to put together the film before her death in August 2018.
It will chronicle her rise to fame during the 1960s and 1970s and her abusive marriage to Ted White.
