Police scoured the city of Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday in search of suspects in the killing of rapper Young Dolph.
The 36-year-old, born Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., who was admired by fans and peers for his authenticity and independence, was gunned down at a local cookie shop.
The shooting has shocked the music industry and his hometown, with condolence messages flooding the various social media platforms.
Police tweeted they had no information to release about a possible suspect and have encouraged Memphis citizens to stay calm.
Reports are that the rapper had been in Memphis since Monday visiting an aunt who has cancer and was also giving out Thanksgiving turkeys.
