Shenseea's 'Alpha' tops iTunes Reggae Albums chart hours after release

Shenseea's debut album Alpha has made its way to the top of the iTunes Reggae Albums chart hours after being released.
 
The 14-track project, which premiered at midnight, has been the top trending topic in Jamaica on social media site Twitter.
 
Alpha is the number one selling album in New Releases in Reggae and Best Sellers in Reggae on Amazon.
 
Almost all the songs on the album have also charted in the top 25 spots on the iTunes Reggae Songs chart.
 
Songs like Henkel Glue featuring Beenie Man, Can't Anymore, Lying If I Call It Love with Sean Paul and Sun Comes Up have also been trending.
 
In celebration of the album's release, Shenseea staged an album launch party in New York that saw the attendance of rappers Busta Rhymes and Bia, as well as music producers Romeich Major along with David Hayle and Jordan McClure of Chimney Records.
 
Launch events will also be held in Los Angeles and Miami, with a Jamaican launch set for March 15.
