Despite an increase in revenue during the April to December period, Cable and Wireless Jamaica racked up another big financial loss.
According to reports, revenues were up by more than J$2 billion, or twelve per cent, primarily driven by a nine per cent growth in mobile subscribers.
However, Cable and Wireless ended the nine months with a J$1.5 billion loss.
Operating costs were up by $1.8 billion or 15 per cent, due in part to higher direct costs and an increase in administration, marketing and selling expenses.
While the company's mobile business recorded improved performance, it was a different scenario for the broadband segment, with revenues in the latter segment declined during the nine months.
Fixed voice business was up four per cent due to a 63 per cent increase in international revenue while national revenue declined by 19 per cent.
