CARICOM sugar industries prepared to supply total regional demand

The Sugar Association of  the Caribbean has stated that for the 2017/18 crop, its members met 80 per cent of  the brown sugar needs of  Caribbean Community (CARICOM). 
 
This was revealed at the SAC's 169th Board meeting held in Guyana earlier this month.
 
The Association comprises the Barbados Agricultural Management Company, Belize Sugar Industries Limited, the Guyana Sugar Corporation and the Sugar Manufacturing Corporation of  Jamaica Limited.
 
SAC Chairman, Karl James, in looking ahead to the next crop, has stated that CARICOM sugar industries are gearing up to supply total regional market sugar demand.
