IMF upgrades global outlook

The International Monetary Fund has said that despite the global economy being still set to slow down this year, conditions in some areas are more optimistic compared with 2022.

Chief Economist Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas, delivering the IMF's latest global outlook on Monday, said the global outlook was upgraded by 0.2 per cent.

He said that, of the advanced economies, the United States saw a 0.4 per cent improvement in growth set for this year.
