Light and power company JPS says more Jamaicans are opting for prepaid electric 'Pay As You Go' meters.
JPS says approximately 17,000 prepaid customers are on the local grid.
The company says between May and November last year, it saw an additional 1,800 new prepaid customers.
JPS' prepaid option allows customers to control how much they spend and the amount of kilowatt-hours they use.
