The JSE Index declined by 3,423 points while the Junior Market Index declined by 11 points.
Only 40 of the 116 stocks traded advanced.
They were led by Margaritaville Turks USD, First Rock Real Estate Investments USD, AMG Packaging and Paper, Caribbean Producers and Sagicor Select Funds Financial.
The 49 declining shares were led by Consolidated Bakeries, Stanley Motta, Knutsford Express, Caribbean Flavours and Fragrances and KLE Group.
Twenty-seven stocks traded firm.
