A £10 billion package of support is set to be unveiled by the UK government on Thursday, to help households with soaring energy bills.
Schemes such as the Warm Homes Discount could be expanded and council tax cuts may also be announced by Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
One-off payments to some vulnerable households and another cut in VAT on fuel could also be announced.
The support package is expected to be funded in part by a windfall tax on oil and gas firms which could raise £7 billion.
