A 48-hour curfew is in effect in Ramble, Hanover after violence erupted in a section of the Burnt Ground community on the weekend, resulting in shots being fired and a house set ablaze.
The police say the unrest, which began Saturday, escalated with the house set on fire Sunday night.
The tension reportedly stems from the migration of people who have faced rejection from residents.
The police say they have since charged those involved in the violence.
The curfew is intended to prevent the loss of life or further escalation of violence.
The restrictions on movement began at 6 p.m. on Thursday and will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday.
