Jamaica has recorded 696 murders since January 1, surpassing the 666 committed during the same period last year.
That constitutes an increase of five per cent.
The St. Andrew South Police Division has recorded 90 murders during the period under review, the highest in the country.
It was followed by St. James with 82 and the St. Catherine South Division with 63.
