Anchovy High school students become ill after smoke inhalation

Two students at the Anchovy High School in the western parish of St James, were taken to hospital on Thursday suffering from smoke inhalation.
      
The students reportedly fainted after smoke from a massive bush fire at a premises close to the school, enveloped the school compound shortly after 1:30. The school's administration dismissed classes and the students were sent home.

 A source at the school  said teachers and administrative staff, quickly activated the evacuation drill after realizing several classrooms were engulfed in smoke.  
     
The school's principal, Lambert Robinson, confirmed that the two students who were taken to hospital are in stable condition. The other students were evacuated with the assistance from the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC).
