Antigua-Barbuda: Gov't maintains that all beaches remain accessible to citizens and residents

The Antiguan government has restated its position that the beaches in Antigua & Barbuda remain accessible to all citizens and residents.

Minister for Land, Maria Browne made the comment while responding to social media discussions on access to a number of beaches.

Social media discussions suggest that people are being blocked from entering and using beaches where development is taking place, with some being granted access with limitations.

Referencing the Physical Planning Act, the Land Minister says no owner, developer, or occupier of land leading to a beach has the authority to prevent people from accessing and using the beaches on Antigua & Barbuda.
