Bed capacity in hospitals "fluid" - NAJ

NAJ President Patsy Edwards Henry

The Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) has characterized as “fluid” the bed capacity at hospitals for COVID-19 patients amid reports that some institutions have exceeded occupancy levels.

On Sunday, the Ministry of Health said Noel Holmes Hospital in Hanover and Falmouth Hospital in Trelawny had exceeded capacity, while other hospitals are nearing capacity.

NAJ President Patsy Edwards Henry explained that capacity can mean three beds occupied.

She said patients are recovering and being discharged, so the situation is constantly changing.
