Camperdown student dies after fall

An upper sixth form student at Camperdown High School in Kingston died after he reportedly fell and hit his head at home on Thursday.

The Ministry of  Education confirmed the incident but has not released the identity of the 19 year old who was home with symptoms of the Chikungunya virus.

According to Education officials, the student was alone and while showering fell and hit his head.

His body was found by his father.

Director of  Corporate Communication at the Education Ministry, Byron Buckley, expressed condolences to students and staff  at Camperdown.

“The Ministry of Education is saddened by the death of the upper sixth form student, we of course share sympathy with his relatives and the school family. Of course the Ministry will support them as best as we can,” Buckley said.
