CCRIF providing US$2.2 million relief to St. Vincent and the Grenadines

The Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) on Monday announced that it will pay US$2.2 million to St. Vincent and the Grenadines for relief and recovery efforts following the eruption of the La Soufrière volcano.
 
The CCRIF said the financial support will be in the form of a grant.
 
The volcano erupted on April 9 forcing the evacuation of more than 16,000 people.
 
Scientists monitoring the volcano have warned of continued seismic activity.
