Changes made at senior levels of JCF

Newly installed Police Commissioner Dr Kevin Blake has announced changes to the top brass of the Jamaica Constabulary Force. 
 
The changes, announced on Friday through the publication of the JCF's weekly Force Orders, also include middle management levels of the constabulary. 
 
As of April 2, 2024, Deputy Commissioner Clifford Blake - will be reassigned to the Inspectorate & Professional Standards Oversite Bureau [IPROB].
 
Assistant Commission Andrew Lewis has now been assigned the Crime and Security Portfolio. It's understood that he will work alongside DCP Fitz Bailey, with a view to eventually taking charge of the portfolio. DCP Bailey will turn 60 this year, meaning he is set to retire from the Force shortly. 
 
Among the other shifts at the senior level, ACP Warren Clarke has been shifted to the Strategic Operations portfolio, and ACP Karina Powell Hood, Force Development and Logistics 
 
ACP Clifford Chambers will move to the office of the commissioner of police, while ACP Calvin Allen takes charge of Area 3 headquarters.  
 
At the level of Senior Superintendent of police, Glenford Miller will assume command of Area 1, Paulette Green – area 4; Kirk Ricketts, Security Intelligence Branch; Desmond Brooks - IPROB.
 
SSP Robert Gordon goes to the Administration Branch, while Howard Chambers will go to Specialised Operations and SSP Hopton Nicholson takes charge of the St. Catherine North division.
 
Police Commissioner Dr Kevin Blake, addressing the officer corps this week, said the changes were in line with his strategic vision for the JCF under his leadership. 
 
He said the reassignments highlight his desire to refresh and effectively utilise the diverse skills and talents within the leadership and management ranks.
