Citizens rights group wants to appear before parliamentary committee regarding development order for Corporate Area

Carol Narcisse, member of Citizens' Right to the City, speaking Tuesday on Beyond the Headlines

A citizen's rights group is raising alarm over a decision by a parliamentary committee to exclude it from making presentations about the residential developments cropping up in Kingston & St. Andrew.

Carol Narcisse, a member of Citizens' Right to the City, is arguing that the exclusion is  unfair and the Infrastructure and Physical Development Committee would benefit from the group's presentation.

The group is an amalgamation of nearly 30 associations across Kingston & St. Andrew.

It wants to press its concerns with the parliamentary committee about the effects of the changes in policy from the 2017 provisional development order which made adjustments to height and density requirements for developments.

Ms Narcisse, speaking Tuesday on Radio Jamaica's Beyond the Headlines, argued that the Order will soon be made final without adequate feedback from citizens groups.

This, she said, is puzzling.
