No face-to-face school on Tuesday

All schools have been ordered closed for face-to-face classes on Tuesday due to the expected adverse weather conditions expected from Tropical Storm Rafael.

The Met Service says the storm is expected to be near Jamaica by late Monday night or early on Tuesday, near or over the Cayman Islands on Tuesday night, and approach Cuba on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Education and Youth says schools should be closed to in-person classes on Tuesday to ensure the safety of students and educators.

It urges schools to instead utilise online channels for instruction. Where students do not have access to the internet, it says they must be assigned tasks in line with their curriculum to minimise the disruption in their learning.
