Committal hearing delayed for Jamaican facing murder charge in Antigua and Barbuda

A Jamaican man who is charged in a case of murder and attempted murder in Antigua and Barbuda has suffered a setback in getting a committal hearing.

The hearing, which was scheduled for Wednesday, has been delayed until January 19.

During the hearing, the Jamaican will be informed if the police have enough evidence against him to send the matter to the higher court for trial or a guilty plea.

Linsome Boyd, 53, was charged with the murder of 47-year-old Althea Henry, a mother-of-three, and the attempted murder of her 21-year-old son.

Miss Henry's body, which had multiple wounds, was discovered at her home in June.

Her son was taken to hospital with injuries allegedly received during an altercation with the accused.
