Couple taken into custody following deadly Westmoreland house fire, released

The couple taken into custody last week in connection with a house fire in Westmoreland which claimed the lives of two eight-year-old boys, has been released.
 
The man and woman were released on the weekend pending further investigation by the police.
 
Eight-year-old Jamar Reid and his eight-year-old relative, Romaine Powell, perished in the house fire last Thursday in Culloden, Whitehouse.
 
They were students of New Hope Primary and Junior High in Whitehouse.
 
The boys, who were home alone, died after they were trapped in the blaze, which occurred shortly after midnight.
