Former police constable Romone Edwards was on Wednesday remanded in the St. James Parish Court in relation to a case of fatal shooting committed in 2013.
He is to reappear in court on Friday.
His attorneys say they intend to make a bail application at that time.
Mr. Edwards, who was arrested at Norman Manley International Airport on December 30 last year, had resigned his job and relocated to Canada. He is charged in relation to the October 10, 2013 fatal shooting of Tasane Christie in Glendevon, St. James.
The incident occurred during a joint police-military operation in the area.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) completed its investigation in 2016 and the charge against the former Constable Edwards had been pending since 2018 when a ruling was received from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
