Students and their guardians stand outside Kingston Technical High School on Thursday after a stabbing which left one student dead.
A student is dead following a stabbing this afternoon at Kingston Technical High School on Hanover Street, downtown Kingston.
The 16-year-old female student was killed about 2:30 p.m.
It's reported that the student and her 17-year-old schoolmate were involved in an altercation on the school compound.
During the incident, the 16-year-old received multiple stab wounds to her upper body while the other student sustained an injury to her wrist.
They were taken to hospital where the 16-year-old was pronounced dead and the other treated and taken into custody.
