Five men wanted by Kingston West police captured

Five men who were on the Kingston West police most wanted list have been captured.

Senior Superintendent Michael Phipps, head of the division, told Radio Jamaica News that they include Rushawn Samuels, who was held recently during a police operation in West Kingston.

Mr. Samuels has been charged with two counts of murder, including the fatal shooting of Anthony Richards, the leader of the Brawling Gang in Denham Town.

Mr. Richards was killed on Spanish Town Road in August last year.

The incident sparked deadly reprisal attacks in West Kingston.

A second suspect, Romario Powell, has been charged jointly with Mr. Samuels for the murder of Mr. Richards.

SSP Phipps told Radio Jamaica News that Mr. Samuels has also been charged with several counts of shooting and is under investigation in connection with other murders in West Kingston.
