Acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Claudette Thompson says contractors have pledged to rid the office of mould within another four months.
In November, staff of the Office of the DPP were forced to evacuate the building, which was expanded and renovated about two years ago at a cost of $850 million, due to mould infestation.
Since then, access to the building has been limited.
Speaking during Tuesday's ceremonial opening of the Hilary Term, Ms. Thompson said she is hoping that the contractors will stick to their deadline.
She pointed out that access to the building has been limited to safeguard the health and well-being of staff members.
Highlighting the impact of the infestation, Ms. Thompson said files that were left in the building were inaccessible.
But she said, while the infestation was not anticipated, the ODPP had already begun digitising its files, is able to access most, and will continue to do so.
