GeoTechVision sues e-learning Jamaica

Stephen Wedderburn, ICT Project Manager, GeoTechVision

The ICT company, GeoTechVision, has carried out its plan to take legal action against state-run entity e-learning Jamaica.

GeoTechVision is challenging the termination of the contract it received from e-learning Jamaica to supply devices under the Tablets in Schools programme.

In an update to RJR News Sunday night,  ICT Project Manager at GeoTechVision, Stephen Wedderburn, confirmed that the matter is now in court, and is likely to go to arbitration, "and we'll wait and see what happens."

GeoTechVision contends that there is no merit to the decision by e-Learning Jamaica to end the contract.

In October, e-Learning Jamaica said it terminated GeoTecVision's contract because the samples the company provided did not meet specifications.

GeoTecVision said the tablets were already built when the termination letter was issued.

It said an initial tranche of one thousand tablets was delivered under the programme.
